Oregon's best beaches and a good choice of cheap hotels.
Gold Beach
in southern Oregon offers some of the State's best sunshine hours

Whale Watching and Oregon Beachcombing
Other attractions of the Oregon coast include whale watching
and beachcombing in the tidepools for Agates. Storm watching
is also popular during the winter season. Many tidepools exist which host a
multitude of sea creatures, especially after winter storms. Rocky inter-tidal areas are
considered best for Oregon beachcombing particularly around low tide. Some of the best
Oregon coast tidepool areas are:-
- Myers Creek (7 miles south of Gold Beach, OR)
- Whiskey Creek (14 miles south of Gold Beach in Boardman State Park)
- Cape Ferrelo at Lone Ranch Wayside (near Brookings, OR)
|
Try Whale watching along the Oregon coast for the 300 -
400 grey whales that inhabit Oregon's Pacific coastal waters year round. Look for water spouts
12 feet in the air as the whale surfaces. One of the best whale watching areas is Cape
Sebastian, 5 miles south of Gold Beach.
Oregon Coast Aquarium
The Oregon Coast Aquarium offers personal encounters with sea
life found along the Oregon coast. Highlights are 'Passages
of the Deep', the giant sea Octopus (weighing 80lbs) and close up participation with
Starfish and Sea Anemones.
